The colors of fall can be sporadic in Central Ohio depending upon the depth of summer’s heat and moisture and the vagaries of autumn’s ferocity. The years color blooms are spread out over several months with the strongest maples lasting in the final days of October to offer their warm hues in yellow and orange.

Among the brightest and most noticed are several sets of maples at Red Bank at the end of Maxtown Road. The spot is a favorite for photographers all year long but most visited in the fall when these trees spread their color across the shoreline.
